Retraction and Correction Policy
Retraction and Correction Policy
Journal of Electronics, Computer Networking and Applied Mathematics (JECNAM) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. This policy outlines the procedures for handling corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Corrections (Errata / Corrigenda)
A correction will be issued when a published article contains errors that do not affect the conclusions of the study but may mislead readers. Corrections are categorised as follows:
- Erratum: an error introduced by the publisher (e.g., typesetting, formatting)
- Corrigendum: an error introduced by the author(s)
Corrections are published as separate linked articles with a clear explanation of what was changed and why. The original article is updated with a notice linking to the correction.
Expressions of Concern
The Editor-in-Chief may issue an expression of concern if:
- There is inconclusive evidence of research or publication misconduct
- An investigation is underway that may result in retraction
- There are credible concerns about the reliability of data or findings pending further investigation
Retractions
An article will be retracted if:
- There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable due to misconduct (data fabrication, falsification) or honest error
- The findings have been previously published elsewhere without proper attribution (redundant publication)
- The work constitutes plagiarism or copyright infringement
- There are undisclosed conflicts of interest that invalidate the findings or research integrity
Retractions are published promptly. The retraction notice is linked bidirectionally to the original article. The original article is retained online and watermarked 'RETRACTED' with the date and reason clearly displayed.
Procedure
Authors, reviewers, editors, or readers who identify potential grounds for retraction or correction should contact the Editor-in-Chief at editor.jecnam@gmail.com. All cases are handled according to the relevant COPE flowcharts (https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Flowcharts). The final decision to retract or issue a correction rests with the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Publisher (HM Journals).
