Appeals and Complaints Policy
Appeal of Editorial Decisions
Authors who believe their manuscript was rejected due to an error in the review process may submit a formal appeal to the Editor-in-Chief within 30 days of the rejection notice.
To submit an appeal, authors must:
- Send a written appeal to editor.jecnam@gmail.com with the subject line: 'Appeal – Manuscript ID [your ID]'
- Provide specific, point-by-point responses explaining why the rejection decision was erroneous or the review was procedurally flawed
- Not submit new data or substantially revised content as part of the appeal. Appeals are evaluated solely on the basis of the original submission
Appeals are reviewed by a member of the Editorial Board who was not involved in the original decision. The outcome of the appeal is final. Disagreement with a reviewer's scientific opinion alone does not constitute grounds for appeal; appeals must be based on procedural errors or demonstrable misrepresentation of the submitted work.
Complaints
Complaints about editorial processes, reviewer conduct, or publication ethics may be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief at editor.jecnam@gmail.com. If the complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief directly, it should be addressed to the Publisher at hmpublishers2@gmail.com.
All complaints are acknowledged within 10 working days and resolved within 60 days. Unresolved disputes may be escalated to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in accordance with their guidelines.
