Retraction, Corrections, and Expressions of Concern
The Journal of Energy Engineering and Thermodynamics (JEET) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. We follow the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines for retractions, expressions of concern, and corrections.
Corrections (Erratum/Corrigendum)
A correction notice will be issued when a published article contains a significant error that does not affect the overall integrity or conclusions of the work. Corrections are issued for:
- Factual errors in data, calculations, or methodology descriptions
- Author attribution errors (missing co-authors, incorrect affiliations)
- Figure or table errors that do not alter main findings
Corrections are published as linked notices and permanently associated with the original article's DOI record.
Retractions
An article will be retracted when:
- Findings are unreliable due to major error, misconduct, or fabricated/falsified data
- The article constitutes plagiarism or copyright infringement
- The work has been simultaneously published elsewhere (duplicate publication)
- The research was conducted unethically
Retractions are initiated by the Editor-in-Chief, either following a complaint or independent discovery. Authors will be notified and given an opportunity to respond before retraction. A retraction notice is published with the original article's DOI and marked 'RETRACTED' in all metadata systems, including DOI records.
Expressions of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be published when an investigation is ongoing, when an institution fails to investigate, or when evidence is inconclusive. Expressions of Concern are updated or replaced once an investigation is complete.
How to Report Concerns
Authors, reviewers, readers, or any member of the scientific community may report concerns by emailing editor.jeet@gmail.com with the subject line 'Research Integrity Concern'. All reports are treated confidentially. JEET follows COPE flowcharts for handling all suspected misconduct.
