Corrections, Erratum, and Expressions of Concern Policy
CORRECTIONS, ERRATUM, AND EXPRESSIONS OF CONCERN POLICY
Journal of Psychology and Political Science (JPPS)
JPPS is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified in published articles, the journal will take appropriate action based on the type and severity of the issue, following the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
- Corrections (Erratum / Corrigendum)
A Correction notice will be issued when a published article contains an error that does not affect the overall conclusions of the work.
- Erratum: An error introduced by the journal during production (typographical, formatting errors).
- Corrigendum: An error made by the authors (calculation errors, mislabelled figures, minor data entry errors).
The correction notice will be published as a separate, citable article linked to the original, with a clear explanation of the error and its correction. The original article will be updated with a note linking to the correction.
- Retraction
A Retraction will be issued when:
- The findings are found to be unreliable due to data fabrication, falsification, or major error
- The article constitutes plagiarism
- The research was conducted unethically (without IRB approval, without informed consent)
- There is duplicate or redundant publication
- The authorship is disputed in a way that cannot be resolved
A retraction notice will be published and permanently linked to the original article. The original article will be watermarked as "RETRACTED" but will not be removed from the journal's website.
- Expression of Concern
An Expression of Concern will be issued when an investigation is underway and there is insufficient evidence to issue a retraction, but there is a serious concern about the integrity of the article. The expression of concern will be published and linked to the original article.
- How to Report a Concern
Readers, reviewers, or authors who suspect an error or ethical violation are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief at editorinchief.jpps@gmail.com. All reports will be investigated according to COPE guidelines. The identity of the reporting party will be kept confidential.
- Author Responsibilities
Authors who discover a significant error in their own published work must promptly notify the Editor-in-Chief and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction as appropriate.
