About the Journal

The Journal of Production, Operations Management and Economics(JPOME) having ISSN 2799-1008 is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, open access journal that provides publication of articles in following scope. 

Aims

JPOME aims to:

  • Publish high-quality, original research that contributes meaningfully to the body of knowledge in production, operations, and economics
  • Bridge the gap between academic theory and managerial practice by publishing applied research with real-world implications
  • Foster interdisciplinary dialogue across production engineering, management science, supply chain management, and economics
  • Provide an open and equitable platform for scholars from emerging and developed economies
  • Uphold the highest standards of research integrity, peer review quality, and publication ethics

Scope

The journal welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case studies, and methodological papers in the following areas (illustrative, not exhaustive):

  • Production Systems: lean manufacturing, agile production, Industry 4.0, smart factories, additive manufacturing
  • Operations Management: supply chain optimization, inventory management, logistics, quality management, project management
  • Management Science & Decision Making: operations research, multi-criteria decision analysis, simulation, optimization models
  • Economics Applied to Production: industrial economics, productivity analysis, econometrics, cost-benefit analysis, economic policy evaluation
  • Technology and Innovation: manufacturing automation, digital transformation, IoT in production, sustainable manufacturing
  • Human and Organizational Factors: HRM in production environments, organizational performance, leadership in operations
  • Emerging Areas: circular economy, green supply chains, sustainable operations, Industry 5.0, resilience in supply chains

Types of Contributions

  • Research Articles: Original empirical, experimental, or theoretical studies (no maximum page limit)
  • Review Articles: Systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and critical literature reviews
  • Short Communications: Brief reports of novel preliminary findings
  • Case Studies: In-depth analysis of organizational or operational challenges with broader generalizability

Out of Scope

JPOME does not publish purely historical studies, papers without clear contribution to production/operations/economics, or manuscripts that are solely descriptive without analytical depth. Manuscripts must meet the standard of international peer review.

The Journal welcomes the submission of manuscripts that meet the general criteria of significance and scientific excellence. Papers will be published shortly after acceptance. All articles published in JPOME are double-blind, peer-reviewed.

From 2025 onwards, the journal is published Semi-annually (2 issues per year, January–June and July–December)."
