Abstract

This comprehensive review examines the ferroelectric material triglycine sulphate (TGS), focusing on its properties, synthesis methods, and applications up to 2021. TGS has garnered significant attention in the field of ferroelectrics due to its exceptional pyroelectric and piezoelectric properties. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of TGS's crystal structure, ferroelectric characteristics, and temperature-dependent dielectric properties. Various synthesis techniques and characterization methods are discussed, along with recent advancements in TGS research. The review also explores the advantages, challenges, and potential applications of TGS in diverse fields such as infrared detection, electro-optic devices, and energy harvesting. Finally, future research directions are proposed to further enhance the understanding and utilization of this remarkable ferroelectric material.
