Abstract

Background: To study under experimental research conditions the impact of low-toxic plant-material based biologically active aggregate on the immune system and other organs and systems with the aim of determining its overall biological safety and pharmacological activity.

Objective: The tests were performed under controlled research conditions with the biologically active aggregate derived from plants as the test substance.

Methods: Specific immunological parameters of the immune system, as well as toxic effects of the substance on other organs and systems were studied systematically, paying special attention to the aspects of toxicity and immune response to the substance. The work is outlined in detail following the study protocol, including evaluation of the action of the substance in the major physiological systems of the body.

Results: The studies performed showed that the plant-based biologically active aggregate had low toxicity and had a measurable effect on the immune system and on other organs and systems studied. The overall pattern of data demonstrated that the substance tested did not cause significant adverse or toxic effects under the tested conditions and that it had a stimulatory effect on the immune parameters tested.

Conclusion: The biologically active aggregate investigated is of low toxicity and exhibits a clear immunostimulant activity, by plant origin. This discovery indicates its promise as a low-toxicity compound that can boost the function of the immune system, and opens the door to exploring the compound's potential for treating other conditions.
