Tracing the evolution of women empowerment in sustainable development: a bibliometric analysis

This review article, on Women’s Empowerment in the Framework of Sustainable Development: A Bibliometric Analysis,” explores the historical enhancement of women’s emancipation. In this qualitative systematic review, bibliometric analysis is applied to assess the literature trends from 2000 to the year 2023, comparing the paradigm shift of women’s employment post-implementation of the UN SDGs. In the present paper, the author highlighted changes in research topics by conducting a bibliometric analysis of 813 articles in the domain. This study's findings aim to inform policy-makers, researchers, and practitioners to promote an inclusive and egalitarian society on the global level. Recommendations for future research are given; particular emphasis is made on the necessity of the focus on the regional data and the investigation of the effects of the recent global occurrences on the theme of women’s emancipation. The article has therefore significantly advanced the knowledge base and would be a useful addition to the progression of gender equality and sustainable development.

A study to assess the prevalence of leucorrhoea and its associated risk factors among the women attending obg opd at selected hospitals vijayapur

Leucorrhea, often referred to as white vaginal discharge, is a prevalent condition affecting women worldwide. Although commonly part of normal physiological processes, an unusual discharge—appearing white, yellowish, or clear—may suggest underlying issues such as infections, hormonal disturbances, or inadequate personal hygiene. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of leucorrhea and to identify related risk factors including hygiene practices, sexual behaviour, hormonal changes, and infections. A cross-sectional descriptive research design was employed, involving 100 women aged 18 to 50 years who visited the gynaecology outpatient department. Participants were selected through a convenient sampling technique. Data collection was done using a structured questionnaire that gathered information on demographics, menstrual and obstetric history, personal hygiene, and symptoms associated with leucorrhea. Results indicated that 30.0% of the participants experienced leucorrhea. Statistically significant associations were found between the condition and variables such as gravida, place of delivery, and use of contraceptives (p < 0.0001, chi-square test). The study underscores a notable prevalence of leucorrhea among women attending gynaecological clinics and stresses the importance of health education, improved hygiene, and preventive strategies to promote better reproductive health outcomes.

E-rupee as a tool for social justice advancing equality in women’s empowerment and welfare programs

The E-Rupee, as India's digital fiat currency, holds the potential to transform the landscape of social justice by advancing equality, particularly in women’s empowerment and welfare programs. This paper explores the E-Rupee's capacity to align with universal human values of equality and social justice, highlighting its potential to reduce economic disparity by ensuring transparent and efficient disbursement of government welfare schemes. By addressing the structural and gendered inequalities inherent in traditional distribution methods, the E-Rupee can empower marginalized women, offering them direct access to financial resources while fostering their inclusion in the digital economy. The programmable digital currency enables the seamless transfer of welfare benefits, minimizing fraud, corruption, and inefficiencies. Through a detailed analysis of the E-Rupee’s integration into existing welfare frameworks, this paper argues that the digital fiat currency not only enhances the effectiveness of welfare programs but also serves as a catalyst for promoting gender equality and achieving broader social justice in India.
